Melanie is happy to announce that, starting in 2008, she will be collaborating with her husband, Jose Angel, a marine biologist who has spent many years working for conservation on the Baja peninsula, and photographing its wildlife and landscapes. Due to their shared passion for nature, Willow River Studio's mission has been expanded to working for conservation as well as photographic excellence, and they will seek to combine the two whenever possible.

Melanie and Jose currently divide their time primarily between San Diego, CA. and Ensenada B.C. Mexico, but they travel extensively and are available to do destination weddings just about anywhere. Melanie makes frequent trips to work and visit friends in Richmond, VA, where Willow River Studio was founded, and where she still owns a home.
