Willow River Studio was founded by Melanie Lamaga to provide quality photography for businesses and individuals. Melanie has a bachelor's degree in photography from the University of Maryland, and over 20 years of experience.

Willow River Studio specializes in wedding and event photography, portraits, head shots, commercial photography for businesses, conservation and editorial photography. Melanie is assisted by her husband, Jose Angel, a marine biologist who has spent many years working for conservation on the Baja peninsula, and photographing its wildlife and landscapes. Willow River Studio is commited to working for conservation as well as photographic excellence. To that end we implement eco-friendly practices whenever possible. These include using digital equipment, web proofing, carbon off-sets for travel, CFE bulbs and recycling. Starting in 2010 we are excited to begin offering hand-made, eco-album options for portrait and event clients.

Melanie and Jose are bi-coastal, and travel back and forth between San Diego, Baja California and Richmond, VA in the course of their photography assignments and conservation projects.
